Established in 1977 by the Kodaikanal municipality and named after the Chettiar community, this is a smaller, quieter counterpart to Bryant Park, sitting on the way to Kurinji Andavar Temple. It's known for manicured lawns, ornamental flower beds, and a children's play area, and has also featured as a filming location for several Tamil and Hindi productions. Its rarest draw is the native Kurinji flower, which blooms only once every 12 years, briefly covering the surrounding hills in blue-purple.

Practical tips

  • Pair it with Kurinji Andavar Temple, since both sit on the same road and the visit flows naturally between them
  • The Kurinji bloom is rare and unpredictable — worth knowing about, but not something to time a trip around
